The Dream Team Poker will host its second poker event-the first that is open to the public at Caesars Palace beginning on March 27th, 2009 until March 29th, 2009. Daniel Delshad, the Chief Executive Officer of Dream Team Gaming, the Beverly Hills Company that makes Dream Team Poker said that the idea of team poker is not a new concept by any means. But they are making a good atmosphere for individuals to enjoy poker where before they might have been intimidated to play. Delshad said that he expects the Dream Team poker event to attract a lot of casual poker enthusiasts to tournaments.
Dream Team Poker's event features teams of 3 poker players competing in a multiple table event wherein the teams are scored based on the performance of the three team members. The group launched its first-of-a kind poker event last November 2008. Delshad said that the first tournament was such an outstanding accomplishment. He added that they are seeing a great demand for this game from casino facilities and poker players. While the November event, which took place at the Hard Rock casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, was considered to be a private poker event for the industry, the March tournament in Caesars Casino will be open to the public.
A week before the event, organizers of the tournament have announced that 170 teams already registered for the event, forcing officials to stop registration since the poker room has reached its full capacity. There will be a waiting list for poker players in Wednesday and Dream Team Poker will notify poker teams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday of their eligibility to join the event.
More than one hundred teams have already registered for the Caesars Palace event, including a team featuring Jerry Buss, Phil Hellmuth and Mike Matusow. Jamie Gold, Jerry Yang and Tiffany Michelle are also expected to bring teams to the event. The buy-in cost for the event is $550 per person or $1,650 per team. Delshad said that he has great hopes for the event and hopes to offer the event in casinos throughout the US in the near future.
