Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino To Host 2009 Season of Poker After Dark

On August 25th, 2008, Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino officials announced that the well-known downtown property has finalized an agreement with the producers of NBC's Poker After Dark to host the 2009 season of the well-known poker television series. The first sixty episodes of the nightly, one hour show, now hosted by model Leeann Tweeden, will be filmed in the property's brand new events facility, The Grand, from October 26th, 2008 and will end on November 5th, 2008.

Brett Kellerman, the chief operating of the Golden Nugget is very happy about hosting the 5th season of the Poker After Dark of NBC. He said that the Golden Nugget Casino has been the home to several, big pokker events so they are looking forward with the challenge of Poker After Dark.

Some of the poker pros that will participate in the event are Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson, Erick Lindgren, Jennifer Harman, Gus Hansen and Phil Hellmuth. When the freezeouts are being shown, each night of one-of-a kind programming will show an intimate look at how a heads-up develops over the course of the week, culminating with a winner on Friday night.

The night show in Saturday, the director's cut will show the week's highlights and show Tweeden interviewing the week's winner to know their winning strategy. The cash games, which is very popular during the 4th season of the Poker After Dark will be improved and showcase the top poker players in the game placing big portion of their bankrolls and edging it out for hundreds of thousands.

NBC will begin showing the fifth season of Poker After Dark on December 29th, 2008 at 2:05 a.m. ET/PT, Mondays through Fridays and Saturdays at 1:00 a.m, following Saturday Night Live.
