Gold was place into the spotlight in 2006 when he jostled his way in front of the pack on Day four of the World Series of Poker Main Event. He changed that momentum into a historic $12 million 1st place win. Earlier this year, Gold finalized a multi-million dollars endorsement agreement with Aced.com, but that agreement dissolved amidst non-payment speculation earlier this month. Though he has not been able to match that level of success in another major poker event outside the World Series of Poker, Gold has utilized his high profile image to help with different charity events.

Gold said that non-profit organization is close to his heart and he is blessed to make a difference together with his poker career. Gold is joining with Ed Norton to host an event on Sunday which will benefit the Wilhelm and Karl Maybach Foundation and the Sunflower Children Foundation. The tournament is expected to draw famous celebrities, businessman and sports stars and more for a Texas Holdem event that will award the winner a slot in the World Series of Poker. The winner will also a private poker lesson from Gold.
