Poker pro Jason Mercier signed up on Team PokerStars Pro on June 30th, 2009. The twenty two year old poker player from Florida has torn up the live poker event circuit since his triumphed last year at the EPT 4 San Remo, earning $3.3 million in winnings in just a year. Mercier won his 1st WSOP bracelet earlier this summer and now continues his unprecedented rise to success by joining with one of the biggest names in the poker industry.
As a Team PokerStars Pro, Mercier will wear the logo of PokerStars at different poker events all over the world including the EPT and World Series of Poker events. Mercier stated that he is looking forward to participating in poker events in Barcelona and London. He added that before the agreement, he was not sure if he was going to participate.
He will also play at PokerStars.com, where poker enthusiasts can test their poker skills against the young poker pro. Mercier stated that the collaboration with PokerStars was a natural thing to do. Mercier stated that he is friends with a most of the members of Team PokerStars and he is also friends with a lot of people who work with PokerStars.
The European Poker Tour London High-Roller champ also stated that he looks forward to the security he gains from the agreement but does not think that it will change that much at the poker tables. PokerStars also announced that it has signed poker pro Marcel Luske from the Netherlands as another new member of Team PokerStars.
