John Juanda, Erick Lindgren and Erik Seidel of Team Full Tilt were also competitive in both of the races. Juanda and Lindgren each claimed a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2008 while Erik Seidel achieved one of the best years of his career with a World Poker Tour victory, two World Series of Poker final tables and a 2nd place finish in the Main Event of the Aussie Millions.
Seidel finished fifth in the Card Player standing and 11th in the BLUFF Magazine player standings. But 2008 was John Phan's year.
