Ladbrokes has invited singer Lady GaGa to show her "poker face" at the Ladbrokes Irish Poker Festival in Killarney next week. The woman who took "PokerFace" to the top of the international pop charts reportedly has a break in her tour with hip-hop singer Kanye West and Ladbrokes has invited her to play in the Festival's main event which will begin on October 2nd, 2009.
Ladbrokes' head of poker Kate McLennan said that it would be fantastic if Lady GaGa could come participate in the tournament and they will even make room for Kanye West if he wants to participate in the tournament. McLennan said that the question is whether Lady GaGa can duplicate her success in the music industry on the poker table.
Aside from that, 90's Irish boy-band star Boyzone's Shane Lynch has confirmed his participation in the tournament. The 250,000 euros guaranteed main event will take place at the Irish National Events Center in Killarney. In 2008, the tournament was a sell-out at 832 participants setting a new European record.
Irish poker player Jimmy McSweeney won the 100,000 euros 1st place cash prize. This year, the Festival also includes a 2-day 270 euros+30 event on October 3rd, 009 and a one-day 150 euros+20 event on October 4th, 2009.
