Online poker site PokerStars is expecting to surpass forty billion card hands dealt this month and is celebrating the historic event with cash giveaways and value added poker events, including the largest Sunday Million guarantee. There will also be cash prizes across all PokerStars cash game tables in the days before the forty billionth card hand.
Poker players dealt into every millionth card hand will win $40 for every VVP they earned in the previous forty hands played on that poker table. An extra VVP will be given to all players dealt in ensuring every player is a winner. The winner of the card hand will also see the cash pot doubled.
When the forty billionth hand is given, all poker players dealt in will be given $400 for every VVP earned in the previous forty hands and the cash pot will be doubled again. Aside from the cash games, PokerStars will also be increasing the guaranteed prize pool of the Sunday Million on February 21st, 2010 to $4 million.
The date also commemorates the fourth anniversary of the Sunday Millions and will guarantee its largest ever cash pool with at least $1 million for 1st place.
The poker tournament takes place at the usual 4:30 p.m. ET time slot and has a buy-in cost of $215. There will also be a $1 million guaranteed poker tournament in honor for the forty billionth hand on February 14th, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. ET with a $40 buy-in.
PokerStars will also be running a number of forty-man Super Sit and Go tournaments featuring different buy-ins and the opportunity to take home a piece of the $40,000 prize throughout the rest of the month.
The PokerStars VIP club is also contributing to the celebrations, offering poker players $40 cash credit for only 2,500 FPPs throughout February 2010.
